A bridge not too far

With the frame finished and inspector satisfied we enter the next phase aimed for lock-up. I just ordered the ground floor windows, so now a wait of six weeks or so before they arrive.

In the meantime we are tackling those fiddly extra jobs that will make the house surrounds so much more functional. These include putting up the hand rail cables for the footpaths, a metal rim to protect the concrete edge for the house/shed apron and of course completing the bridge from the house veranda deck to the footpaths.

Wires for power and wires for balustrades.

A little more progress over the last fortnight. I just have a couple of my regulars working on the balustrades and wiring the balustrades. It looks SO much better to remove the plywood boarding around the "house deck". Meanwhile we approacing the completion of the landscaping features with the build of the balustrade. I am pleased with the detail we came up with to hover a piece of flat steel over the balustrade of the "boat deck", which is already being called the "Titanic".

Drone view - landscape update

We have added more earth to the shelf to make room for the garden railway. Steep slope planted to grass seed to bind soil and covered in hessian to prevent erosian. Soil has been added to rear gardens behind shed and house. Some natives and herbs planted. Sprinklers added to upper middle and lower garden as well as shelf rim, which you can see in some of these photos. Wood has arrived ready for framing, which is yet to commence.
