Flash flashing
I know it has been a month since my last blog, but my excuse is that it has been a crazy busy month. I have been evicted from my little rental house in town on account of it being sold. This involved lots of moving stuff and several painful days cleaning which I am not particularly accustomed to doing. I was set to find elsewhere to rent, but several friends convinced me to move into the shed on site. So I have been very busy extending the shed mezzanine to accomodate my necessary furniture while the boys built me a bathroom and kitchen at the rear of the shed. Paul said I would be without a toilet for a week and a shower only takes "a couple of days" to build. Piss easy, he says. So three weeks later it is still not finished and I end up having to stay four nights at a friends place. It is all done now and I have been glamping in the shed for another four nights now.
Meanwhile a friend from the sailing club has been doing a bit of work on the house for me, plugging away at plugging the gaps between the windows and frame. With the shed conversion out of the way the boys (my two youngish labourers) under Paul's (and occasionally my) supervision turned their attention back to the shed. They have begun to install the metal flashings around the windows. The colour I have chosen for the cladding is "Dune". I was going to go with the same grey as the shed, but decided in the end for something a little warmer that would glow in the setting sun. Here are a few pics from our first couple of days.
